WRITING CONTEST: ANNOUNCEMENT OF WINNERS

Asalaamu alaykum warahmatullah wabarokatuh . Pharmaceutical Muslim Students Society of Nigeria - PMSSN, is pleased to announce the winners of the maiden edition of PMSSN National  Writing contest in both Essay and Poetry categories. However, below are few remarks from judges; About two to three cases of plagiarism were noticed in the essay category entries. Two entries sent by different individuals fed off the work of another. This severely affected the points they got for creativity.  A particular entry fed off news reports from www.pharmacytimes.com and www.pharmacy.biz. Sourcing for information is not wrong. But sections of this entry were verbatim when compared with information from these websites. Many of the entries flouted the word-count limit. Going forward, the contestants failed to consider readability while writing. Short sentences are more readable than long sentences. The contestants should always proofread and edit accordingly.
